Crème Solaire pour le Visage

Incredibly grateful for my Southern Sole Sisters on so many levels. Little did I know when I started a nearby bootcamp in 2008 that I would become friends with such an amazing group of women and then this group would develop through weekly runs (and continues to grow..love our new BRFs) to an incredible bond that enhances my life and that of my family. The sole sisters support each other through exercise, humor, endurance challenges (new HM training plan anyone?), celebrations, gatherings and knowledge/experience sharing. Truly with such an accomplished and broad group, one can literally toss out a question or dilemma and get guidance, referrals, new hair stylists, selfie sticks, end-of-year teacher gift, recipe, babysitter, interior designer, dentist (teeth whitening..ouch!)..the list is endless.  I thought I would share such a knowledge exchange that happened this week as People's Exhibit A. Not only to document the resource that is our group, with a little bit of humor (and also to put this information someplace 'cause I know I will want to reference this later) but to share with the rest of our SSS.  If you have more  to the pile of the topic of FACE SUNSCREEN (in french = crème solaire pour le visage), please post comments.

8:41am - Alma email:
I have a random request for you ladies :)!
Do any of you have a face lotion with sunscreen that you would recommend?  I have face lotion I really like and it has 17 SPF in it, but I noticed that isn't enough for me.  My big ole nose keeps getting burnt.  I used to use Aveeno and it had more SPF, but I felt it was NOT as hydrating as what I needed.  I know there is plain old sunscreen out there that I could/should use, but I really want face lotion with sunscreen in it.  Otherwise, I'll never remember to use it and put it on.  If you have a sunscreen you love for your face, I guess I could try to get in the habit.

8:45am - Betty:
I use Revision tinted sunscreen and love it; it is expensive but works really well and is 45 SPF. :) I have also used Eucerin for the face but I think it only has 15.

8:47am - Clarice:
I use EltaMD. They have a 40 and a 45. I use it daily. I used to get white sunspots on my face and I do not get them since using this. Derm recommended it. You can buy it at Aya at Phipps but Amazon is cheaper.

I like Revision stuff too. Used their eye cream.

8:59am - Bea:
I use CeraVe with SPF 30.

9:31am - Ruth:
I agree with Betty – the Revision Intellishade is awesome. A tinted moisturizer though…
Betty – you can get an 8oz tube on Amazon for much cheaper than the dermatologist or retail.

Do you all ever shop on skinstore.com? For my base moisturizer (not spf) which is Jurlique, I find it's cheaper than Amazon.

9:36am - Betty:
thanks for the tip :) I need to check out skinstore.com too because i want some revision vitamin C :)

9:46am - Zelda:
I started using Anthelios after my dermatologist recommended and really like it. I use my normal moisturizer and then put this on top. It is lightweight and doesn't make your makeup look slippery. I have never broken out and it works great. Use it at the beach on my face and chest and wear it every day, including on runs!

I buy it on Amazon (it's about $22 but I just found it at Target.

I use Naturepathica (sp?) face moisturizer with SPF (low amount though).
My husband used EltaMD and loves it.

Thank you all!  Such great suggestions!  I really appreciate it and so does my face :)!

THAT IS SO MUCH INFORMATION in just 68 minutes! I was totally entertained and informed about face sunscreen. You all rock and I am so thankful to be friends with you. I cannot wait to read and learn about the next topic. See some of you all tomorrow for the run. Have a great Memorial Day weekend,
Sadie

P.S. - Still love to hear any other thoughts on face sunscreen. Post them to the Comments.
